Held on the last Saturday in August, the T-Town Rumble Car and Truck Show is quickly becoming one of Tehachapi’s premiere auto events. Going on it’s eigth season (August 26th, 2017,) this up and coming show is already one of Tehachapi’s choice events and is quickly becoming a Kern County and Antelope Valley favorite. Participants from all over Kern County, as well as Los Angeles and Fresno counties, have traveled up the mountain to enjoy the weather, scenery and small town culture.
Held from 9am to 2pm, check in begins at 8:00am. Pre-registration will be available (and recommended!) This show has a casual atmosphere and laid back vibe, you can park where you want, come and go as you please. With an Early-Bird registration that includes a Tee Shirt! and Swag Bags, cost is only $25. Print a Registration Right Now Day of the event is only $25 but doesn’t include the Tee or Swag Bag. This cool, calm and flexible event just might be the easiest, most relaxed and “funnest” Car Show you’ll attend all year (or ever!)
Classics, antiques, rods and all other cars of interest are invited to this affair. Everyone is welcome at this event, including specialty vehicles (with an Odd Rod category.) This Show offers car buffs, owners and aficionados the opportunity to show and witness the cream of the crop in the extremely comfortable month of August (average 82 degrees!) There is always a veritable potpourri of top quality collectible cars on hand, so “Come On Up and Beat the Heat!!”
Back in 2013 promoters increased the award base, now handing out close to 40 awards in 20 (or more) categories, Check the Categories Page Here. This guarantees every entry a greater chance of winning something! Less car club politics here, as show judging is done by a panel of out of town car buffs, Kern County business sponsors as well as local Tehachapi dignitaries. All trophies and photo awards are presented that afternoon. Don’t worry, the voted awards like “People’s Choice,” the “Teacher’s” and “Preacher’s Choice” Awards, “Work In Progress” and “Odd Rod” awards will still be a part of this year’s event.
The cars and trucks are not the only thing happening at this show! The Rumble has created quite a name for itself with its delicious barbecue Tri-Tip Sandwiches that are not only reasonably priced but are huge. Vendors and Food Booths add to the festivities as do the several Raffles that are running. Raffle prizes in the past have included items from local favorites like P-Dubs Grille & Bar, TK Pizza, unique Tees from Hot Rod Thug, In N Out Shirts and Certs, full health screens from LifeLine Health Screenings, this outrageous Hot Rod Office Chair, 16″ Performance Wheels and much more (we’re working on a flat screen TV.) And, of course, there is the ever popular 50/50 (winners have taken home over $250!) There will also be vendors again at this year’s event, with food, candy and more. In the past we have also featured Family Fun for the kids too, like the Do It Yourself Model Building Clinic featuring Revell Model kits that you build and customize, as well as a Coloring competition. Kids will have an opportunity to demonstrate and realize their “hot rod dreams.” With cars, trucks, music, awards, food, drawings, contests, family activities and prizes, this just may be the “funnest” car show you attend all year!
Formerly known as the Heritage Oak School Annual Cruise-In & Car Show, in 2012 promoters changed the name to the “T-Town Rumble” and added truck and motorcycle categories. In 2015 the motorcycle category was dropped, but the “big prize,” best of show car (or truck) will still be crowned the “King of the Rumble.” In 2017 it was decided that the Rumble should reach out to the Vintage Trailer community and the “Round-Up” was added.
Like every non-profit organization, Heritage Oak School needs your help.
